All About Our E-Design Services

Laid-back luxury isn't only for those of us lucky enough to live on the coast. If you live outside our service area, we can collaborate with you virtually and provide you with a plan for creating your own professionally designed space on your timeline. E-design, or virtual design as it's also sometimes called, is perfect for anyone who can do the work themselves, but wants inspiration and assistance pulling everything together and sourcing products. Let's face it, those things can be overwhelming and time consuming so our goal with E-design is to make that part easy for you. If you've been looking to refresh your space in the new year we'd love to help! Don't where to start or have questions, here's the scoop on how it works and what's included.


The Process:

Have you been wondering how this works? It's pretty simple really. Based on input we gather from you at the start of the project about your style and needs, we'll create an inspiring digital design board. We provide you with a shopping list, links to purchase and notes on how to execute with styling tips as needed and turn it over to you. A space plan and elevation can be included at an extra charge as requested. You then work at your own pace, with your own contractor if needed, to purchase and install your beautiful new space. It's all efficiently done through email and takes about 3-5 weeks with one round of adjustments as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions:


Do you provide floor plans, sketches or elevations?

For E-design, we focus on selections via a mood board and source list and can provide sketches, floorpans or elevations based on your measurements for an extra charge. Your builder, carpenter, cabinet maker, etc. should measure your space in person and provided specifics and drawings as needed. We give direction on the finished product look, finishes, accessories and furniture. Your contractor will need to consider specific codes, layouts for plumbing, lighting, cabinetry, load bearing walls, etc.


Can you incorporate some of my existing furnishings and art?

Yes, we are happy to use or advise you on what should stay or be replaced.


What is included in a round of revisions?

If you want to see changes in your design, we will ask you to send us feedback with all questions and edits in one email. For example, you may want another option for a rug, paint color and light fixture and this would count as one revision. Edits will be turned around in 1-2 weeks. Any additional edits will be charged at our hourly rate.


Can you select hard finishes like tile, flooring, paint, plumbing fixtures, fireplace facing, cabinet door styles, etc?

Yep, we can help with all that. We will do our best to provide you links to a specific product or for example you can take the selection to your local tile or flooring shop and they can help source something similar. In this way, you may be able to find a better price or work with a local vendor if you prefer. You will collaborate with your contractor/tradesperson to work out install details and specific units you'll need to purchase for the space.


What if I just have a few design questions, but don't need an entire plan?

In that case, our design consultation is best for you. I'll meet with you for 60 minutes in your home (or virtually if you prefer that in our current Covid climate) and chat about any design questions you have. This is your chance to get some ideas rolling and direction to help you get started creating your best home. The cost for our 1 hour consultation is $250 and within 24 hours, I'll provide you with some brief notes after our meeting.
