Is it just me or does it seem like people are really going for it in the holiday decoration department this year? I definitely think we're clinging to all the comfort and joy we can find this season and I'm all for it! I love seeing my Instagram feed filled with gorgeous and creative holiday cheer. Speaking of cheer, I recently teamed up with @Seascapeflowers and @Juliecahillphotography to style and capture some festive holiday decor in my home. In case you missed it, you can see how we recently styled our holiday table here. Today I'm excited to show you how we styled the rest of my home with festive garland and greenery.
Our color palette was inspired by an organic earthy-luxe vibe where we took cues from the beautiful California coastline in this photo from Juniper Print Shop hanging above the fireplace. Overall, I prefer natural and more neutral colors for my holiday decor and I love how it all came together this year. We incorporated some beautiful blue and ochre velvet ribbon I found from Anthropologie and I love how perfectly it compliments the garland. Darcy did an amazing job at mixing faux and real greenery with fern branches for the most beautiful swags and wreaths. Scroll on for more details, beautiful photos and sources.
The Mantle
The Staircase
I think decorating the banister is my favorite part of holiday decor. It's the first thing you see when you walk in our home and it just says Christmas to me. We wrapped the banister in faux garland and then tied it all together with more of the natural fern leaves, ribbon and my favorite touch, the pretty antique bells at the end.
The Front Porch
For our front porch, the star was a gorgeous live wreath made of pine, magnolia leaves and fern. I love the way it pops against our blue door, painted Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore.
The Kitchen
The kitchen is where all the action happens. I always add wreaths to the french doors and keep a scented candle going almost all the time. I'd like to say we sipped on that wine and nibbled on the cookies, but honestly we were so busy we never even took a break!
